Pati and Bojonegoro, October 2026 – PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk, through its Partnership and R&D Agronomist teams, collaborated with Better Life Farming (BLF) by PT Bayer Indonesia to organize GEMPITA (Partnership and Technology Education Event) for Garudafood’s partner peanut farmers in Bojonegoro and Pati, Central Java. The initiative aimed to strengthen farmers’ knowledge of good farming practices while demonstrating the practical application of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and crop protection technologies in peanut cultivation.
The first event was held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at a demonstration plot owned by Mr. Ali Mochtar in Sendangrejo Village, Dander District, Bojonegoro Regency. The event was attended by 150 Garudafood partner peanut farmers. A similar event was subsequently held on Monday, October 12, 2026, at a demonstration plot owned by Mrs. Parmi in Jembulwunut Village, Gunung Wungkal District, Pati Regency, involving 130 partner farmers.

During the event, farmers were invited to observe a direct comparison between demonstration plots implementing Garudafood’s Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Bayer Indonesia’s crop protection technologies and control plots managed using conventional local farming practices. Each plot covered an area of 0.25 hectares, allowing farmers to observe differences in cultivation techniques and crop performance.
Through these demonstration plots, farmers gained a better understanding of the importance of proper cultivation practices, from land preparation and the use of Garuda BIGA superior peanut seeds to proper plant spacing, balanced fertilization, adequate irrigation, and effective pest and disease management. Farmers also received guidance on water requirements and pest control during the generative phase, particularly between 60 and 90 days after planting (DAP), a critical period for pod filling and maturation.

Observations from the Bojonegoro event showed that the demonstration plot implementing GAP and crop protection technologies achieved approximately 101% higher productivity than the control plot, along with a quality ratio twice as high. These findings illustrate the potential to improve both productivity and crop quality through the adoption of better farming practices.
Meanwhile, the event in Pati was conducted when the peanut plants were 60 days after planting (DAP). At this stage, farmers were able to observe vegetative growth performance and assess the effectiveness of Bayer Indonesia’s crop protection solution package compared with conventional local farming practices. The educational session also emphasized proper crop maintenance through to the optimal harvest age of approximately 90 days, supporting good pod development and helping farmers produce high-quality peanuts with optimal yields.

Beyond technical training, GEMPITA also served as a platform for Garudafood to introduce farmers to its peanut farming partnership program. Through this partnership, farmers gained insights into the potential for more secure market access and added value by planting Garuda BIGA seeds and joining Garudafood’s partnership program.
Through its collaboration with Bayer Indonesia, Garudafood hopes that GEMPITA will further enhance farmers’ knowledge of good agricultural practices, encourage the adoption of appropriate agricultural technologies, and support improvements in peanut productivity and quality. This initiative reflects Garudafood’s ongoing commitment to strengthening partnerships with farmers and promoting more productive and sustainable agricultural practices.
