Jakarta, 24 August 2022 - PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (Garudafood), a leading food and beverage company in Indonesia, awarded 'Scholarships for Underprivileged Children' through the National Movement for Foster Parents (GNOTA) on Wednesday, 24 August 2022 at Garudafood Head Office, South Jakarta.
The donations were from company employees in the form of school supplies packages (uniforms, shoes, bags, and stationery) for hundreds of GNOTA foster children. The scholarships were distributed to 4 locations, i.e. Garudafood Head Office and three Garudafood business units in Pati – Central Java, Gresik – East Java, and Sumedang – West Java.
The scholarship was symbolically given by Fransiskus Johny Sugiarto, CEO of PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk to representatives of the foster children and Gendis Siti Hatmanti, Chairwoman of the GNOTA Foundation, and representatives of Garudafood employees.
"The Scholarship for Underprivileged Children is our effort to help underprivileged children so they can continue their education and obtain basic education so they can become future leaders," said Fransiskus Johny Sugiarto, CEO of PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk. “We consider this activity as an important momentum to raise concern and engage all parties in ensuring the fulfillment of children's rights, including the right to education," he said.
This was initiated by Garudafood employees and facilitated by the Company as momentum to increase concern for others, strengthen relationships, and become better human beings. In addition, this is in line with Garudafood's culture to always be grateful and serve others as well as to celebrate Garudafood's 32nd anniversary on 31 August 2022.
