Pati, Central Java — High-intensity rainfall has poured down on Pati District since the end of February 2024. As reported by detikjateng.com, a total of 8 sub-districts comprising 36 villages in Pati District, Central Java, were inundated by floods. The reasoning was that the river flow in Pati could not hold the water discharge caused by rainfall intensity that had recently occurred for some time.
The flood affected 8 sub-districts: Gabus, Kayen, Juwana, Jakenan, Sukolilo, Pati, Dukuhseti, and Tambakromo. The disaster caused material losses and also disrupted the daily activities of the local community. Therefore, many parties, including PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (Garudafood) Pati Business Unit—Central Java, have carried out various efforts to accelerate the recovery from the impact of the disaster.
As an initial step, Garudafood Pati mapped the affected employees and vital locations to determine the target locations for distributing the aid. Based on the data collected, 150 Garudafood employees were affected by the flood, and several communities needed the aid as soon as possible.
Garudafood Pati, through the Garudafood Sehati Ambassador team, has distributed aid in several stages between 20 March - 23 March 2024 to the affected employees and the surrounding community in collaboration with the local government to several disaster posts in Sukolilo District, Jakenan District, Widorokandang Village, Sugiharjo Village, Sarirejo Village, and Pati Police. The aid distributed consisted of basic food supplies, dozens of ready-to-eat Garudafood products, and cash.
The aid given reflects the company’s commitment and the participation of all Garudafood employees in supporting post-disaster recovery in the Pati District. Garudafood hopes that the aid given can benefit and motivate the victims to recover from the disaster they have experienced.
