Sumedang, 18 January 2024 PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (Garudafood) inaugurated the Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) with a capacity of 810-kilowatt peak (kWp) at the Garudafood Sumedang Factory, West Java.
The inauguration of the Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) was symbolized by pressing the Videotron screen represented by Hardianto Atmadja (President Director of Garudafood) and Audwin Purwadi (President Director of PT Aruna Cahaya Pratama (Aruna)) as the PLTS developer company accompanied by Fransiskus Johny Soegiarto and Basuki Nur Rohman (Garudafood Board of Directors), Ruli Tobing (Managing Director of PT Sinarniaga Sejahtera), and Telly Steven Saidito (Business Unit Head of Garudafood Sumedang).
The inauguration of the PLTS was followed by a talk show session entitled "Sustainable Lifestyle" which discussed three different perspectives: industry, academicians, and the younger generation. Basuki Nur Rohman (Director of Garudafood) represented the industrial sector, Prof. Tri Basuki Joewono (Rector of Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung) represented the academic sector and Prilly Latuconsina (Chocolatos Brand Ambassador) represented the younger generation.
During the event, Hardianto Atmadja (President Director of Garudafood), Audwin Purwadi (President Director of ARUNA), Basuki Nur Rohman (Director of Garudafood), and Prof. Tri Basuki Joewono Ph.D (Rector of Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung) reviewed the procurement of operational vehicles for electric motorcycles and electric cars used by Garudafood for the inauguration of the Rooftop Solar Power Plant of the Garudafood Factory in Sumedang.
The Company has made efforts to decarbonize emissions of up to 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually or equivalent to planting 114,000 trees by installing the Rooftop Solar Power Plant at the Garudafood Sumedang Factory. This measure was also taken to support the Government's efforts to accelerate the New and Renewable Energy transition and energy mix target as well as to serve as a solution to reduce climate change and global warming.
