Garudafood Gresik Factory Hydroponic Village Community Joins the National Farmers Day Exhibition

Gresik, East Java - To celebrate National Farmers Day, the Gresik Agriculture Office, in collaboration with the Gresik Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) held an exhibition for agricultural products and processed products at Icon Mall Gresik on 1 – 3 October 2021. The exhibition was held while adhering to strict health protocols and this event was officially opened by H. Fandi Akhmad Yani, S.E. as the District Head of Gresik.

On this occasion, the Garudafood Hydroponic Village community, which is fostered by the Garudafood Factory in Gresik, East Java, participated in the exhibition and selling its superior products, i.e. hydroponic vegetables. During the exhibition, the community also offers opportunities for the general public to learn about hydroponic cultivation by providing hydroponic module packages for beginners. A module package includes drafting modules, seeding process, training, and mentoring for two harvests. The Garudafood Hydroponic Village also managed to attract the attention of the Gresik District Head, who took the time to visit and have a dialogue with the Garudafood Hydroponic Village community.

The participation of the Hydroponic Village community was the result of the agreement and commitment between the Head of the Gresik Manpower Office and Garudafood during the Talkshow at the Garudafood Gresik Factory on 23 September 2021 about entrepreneurship and business development. The Head of the Manpower Office gave full support by involving the farmers mentored by the Garudafood Hydroponic Village in farmer exhibitions as well as further directions for legality processing through farmer groups and the legal registration of trademarks/logos through the Gresik Cooperative, Industry and Trade Office.

The Garudafood Hydroponic Village Program is one of the Community Empowerment programs that aim to develop the surrounding community's interest and potential in hydroponic vegetable cultivation. Through this program, Garudafood facilitates and guides the community to learn that they have their own market share to absorb the harvest.
